Keeping hydrated while exercising

Game Times

Why is so important to keep hydrated while excising

While performing intensive physical tasks such as exercise, our body loses liquid and electrolytes, this can affect your physical and mental state and can result in:
  • Cramps, spams, and soreness
  • Fatigue
  • Trouble concentrating
  • Headaches
It is important to keep hydrated before, during and after playing sports. This includes restoring liquids as well as electrolytes.
Electrolytes are important as they help regulate body fluids, aid muscle and nerve function and replenish key minerals like sodium and potassium.

For most of us who participate in a team sport, we do so in an amateurish capacity. Perhaps a couple of times a week or even only once a week. Which is most likely not enough to be in top physical condition to participate in a sport which can lead to injuries. Sport injuries can have a big impact in our day to day life. Serious injuries can not only sideline us from playing but they can also impact our ability to work or other aspects of our lifestyle, therefore, it is important to take preventive measures to avoid getting ourselves hurt.
